  2. Great video – thank you GM Akobian and St Louis CC

  3. is it just me or var seems like Gru from the movie "minions"

  4. Wow , i've got so much to learn just to become a legit beginner. Chess is an amazing game when you start to grasp just how many possibilities there are , i thought there were a lot of possible moves and openings etc. , but had no idea how far of my initial estimates were. Is it possible to become a good player without having a photographic memory?. This is probably a silly question , but is there a good way to learn how to grasp concepts without having to memorize hundreds of games and openings?.

  5. I looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove this

  6. (: . . 🙂

  7. Russians and Irish pronounce the r like the Spanish.

  8. I love his lectures very clear to understand even beginers like me

  9. I'm missing something about the lucina position. Why do I care that his king will be two squares away if he can't cross the file anyway because of my rook?

  10. Sir please make video on bishop vs opposite colour bishop and pawns….😍 and thanks for such a great content…😍

  11. In the first puzzle,
    Ne3 – d5
    Why not Cxd4 here?
Since if Bxd4 then white can play Nc3 so with a relative pin on the rook the bishop is essentially trapped right?

  12. Videos like this make me realize how little I know. Thanks for the video.

  13. at 37:02 Var said "there are 5-6 endgames you must know, 1 of them is Lucena".. would it be possible to get the info which 5-6 endgames he meant?

  14. What if he doesnt move away from the pawn? When you keep constantly checking?

  15. Let me know the name of demonstration software he use. Thank you!

  16. Hiru Sandu Tharu Muthu Maddumaarachchi says:

GM VA: okay do you understand now?
    my brain: yes
okay I'm gonna mix up the positions, let's do a test
my brain: blue blistering barnacles in a thundering typhoon

  17. This guy is an excellent teacher. I love the way he speaks

  18. 22:20 this one was really fun to solve. Took me a few minutes to get but it’s very nice

  19. Didn't know Russell peters was such a good chess teacher as well

  20. You have lot of experience and you need better idea

  21. Child suggests a move that hangs his queen

Akobian: "You could do that.. But let's see if we can find a better move."

  22. GM Akobian is not only a Chess master , but a dynamite instructor. Thank you for such well presented, organized, clear lessons. I wish I could manage the skill level of the children in your class but, at least, I see improvement in my game.

  23. nice to see the guy from despicable me has given up crime and taken up chess

  24. why just not c4, if the black pawn takes you just simply take the rook, if the black pawn advance you would be up a rook 1:00

  25. Did I misheard or dis this dude really say the N Word 🤯 at 19:45

  26. I love to play CHESS!~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  27. What is the software you are using? It looks like chessbase but I have a chessbase 12 in my computer and it cannot creates arrows or highlight squares.

  28. OK I'm calling Kc4 on the second board. I think that is it.

  29. Doubled pawns = loose teeth as spoken by a true chess-dentist…. 😉 😉

  30. Thanks so much GM Varuzhan. You are an excellent teacher. You make the concepts so simple. Thanks a million.

  31. You can tell most of the time when akobian asks a question and people are giving wrong answers or not answering he is thinking “these mf’s so stupid omg”

  32. damn dude who is in this lecture. You are like Jean Claude Van Dam in the dojo trying to do a black belt seminar to white belts.

  33. I really want to watch this video but the instructor should have taken the bull by the horns and lead those donkeys to the promise land in a more timely manner. Like trying to teach a pug how to catch a frisbee
